Foster Slater is an independent family run firm of chartered surveyors providing an extensive range of services to Lending Institutions, Housing Associations, a range of companies and private individuals, amongst others.
We specialise in residential valuation work relating to property in Prime Central London, Greater London, The Home Counties and South-East England.
The firm was founded in 1992 by John Slater who entered the profession in 1961 and during his early career held several Partnerships and was Director of two public property companies. After obtaining his fellowship in 1973, John was appointed as an arbitrator / independent expert by the RICS in 1976 and in the same year formed Langley Slater Plc where he was senior partner and head of the valuation and building departments. John was also a regular panel assessor for the RICS final examination.
In 1997 Jonathan Slater (John’s son) joined the firm, becoming a partner in 2001. Jonathan’s expertise lay in the field of general residential valuation and was the driver behind the firm focussing on this specialism.
Foster Slater became a limited company in 2013 and John retired the following year, with Jonathan’s brother-in-law, Jonny Wailes, joining the firm in 2014 before being made a director in 2019.
Jonathan remains the owner of Foster Slater and built up its professional reputation.
The firm is on the panel for several private banks, whilst acting on behalf of law firms, private companies / individuals and housing associations.
The nature of the firm allows for a bespoke and personal service providing expertise and value for money.
